Florida is a state of great beauty, of great freedom, and great opportunity. But it didn't get that way by accident. Florida's greatness arose from bold, visionary leadership. And its future lies in the hands of the leaders of tomorrow.

How do we ensure that Florida remains in good hands? How can we be certain our future leaders have the tools to address complex the challenges of the 21st century? How can we help our most creative and industrious young thinkers find opportunities to help make Florida even greater?

We have a way: the Florida Gubernatorial Fellows Program. It provides our state's best and brightest students unparalleled opportunities for achievement while developing the kind of multifaceted leaders Florida needs to continue to thrive.

The program was established in 2004 by Governor Jeb Bush. It is entirely non-partisan and welcomes a diversity of political viewpoints. The Fellowship is open to all Florida graduate and undergraduate students from public or private schools. There is no age limit, but Fellows must be currently enrolled students.

Fellows fulfill roles in key areas throughout the top levels of state government, allowing these future leaders to gain both invaluable hands-on experience and extraordinary insight into how government works.

Becoming a Florida Gubernatorial Fellow is an extremely prestigious honor, which is why only the very best graduate and undergraduate students make the cut. Outstanding academic achievement is only the beginning.

Prospective Florida Fellows display the highest character at all times. They are extremely active in their communities. They pursue leadership roles while also working well in a team. They are constantly looking for ways to improve themselves and help improve those around them.
